South Coast Lifestyle
Houghton Bay is still one of Wellington’s hidden gems despite it being deceptively close to the city. The house sites are in the centre of a piece of coast that offers countless opportunities to enjoy the beautiful and distinctive area.
Within a ten minute walk from these homes there is the Houghton Bay surf break, Princess Bay (possibly the nicest swimming beach in Wellington), Houghton Valley’s very desirable school, masses of Council reserve and walking tracks, the scenic area of the headland, the marine reserve for diving, Luhrs Rock/Sharkstooth for spearfishing, the local playground and a whole valley of playing fields.
Within ten minutes’ drive there are three boat ramps, a handful of the South Coast surf breaks, a bunch of diving/spearfishing spots, Maranui café and shopping in Lyall Bay, bars and culture in Newtown or Island Bay and, if you need it, the airport.
Brand new houses are very rare on the South Coast. Please have a look through the our Useful Documents for more information about the development.
